Everybody Loves Tamaki [Day 4.1]

Hikaru wasn’t a morning person; he knew that much about himself as he half-heartedly stifled a yawn inside the car en route to the Shadow King’s home. He had slept rather late the night before, and it took Kaoru a little more than the usual method to wake him.

The boy rubbed his still-tingling side, shuddering at the experience that was still fresh in his memory. But business was business; it was a last-minute plan—one of many they had had to make that week—that he and his brother had put together the day before.

A fresh thought interrupted him from yesterday’s happenings: Are we really that bored?

It was a feeling that always managed to wedge itself between his excitement (which was currently lacking; he was a little lethargic) prior to executing a prank. However, the question was always shoved off by reality which also always managed to catch up soon after.

…and as everyone knew, reality never disappointed.

The door beside Hikaru opened, jerking the boy back to the present. He lingered in his seat to briefly rub his eyes with the back of his hand. As he finally stepped out of the vehicle, he looked up at the massive mansion that was the Ootori home.

The sight of it instantly reminded the older twin of his purpose, sparking the redhead’s excitement. He turned his attention briefly to a white van that followed his car, noting with approval at its punctuality, and then to the butler who was approaching him.

“Good morning!” he greeted. “I’m Hikaru Hitachiin, Kyouya-senpai’s friend from school. I was the one who called earlier about Senpai’s surprise…”
