The Other Side of Things

I wouldn’t ask for something better than to get well…

Takashi found himself lying on his bed as he woke up from a vague dream about the beach. It was about the waves and how they billowed from side to side in the open sea and about the sound of the latter hitting the rocks on the shore. He closed his eyes once more as he sat up. His head was still throbbing and he didn’t feel any better than yesterday. He got a cold the other day after getting soaked up in the rain during kendo practice. Normally, things like that wouldn’t really happen but he was already feeling sick from jet lag and he felt stressed up that his resistance couldn’t take it anymore. He tried to stand up but he ended up falling on the ground.

“Mm… crap.”he murmured as he tried to stand again. This time, the attempt was more successful.

He went into the bathroom and washed his face. He brushed his hair with his fingers as he slumped on a chair nearby: the last of his energy finally draining out of him. His mind kept flashing images of the other members of the Host Club and it gave him a little courage to try to stand up and at least get prepared to meet them but his body wouldn’t allow him to move anymore. He closed his eyes once more hoping to doze off to sleep. He was too weak to care if he slept inside the bathroom.

“Ohayo Mai-san. I came over to see Yasuchika.” Satoshi said, bowing respectfully. The maid nodded.

“Hai Morinozuka-sama. Yasuchika-sama is in his room. I’ll take you up there. This way please.” she said and led Satoshi up to Yasuchika’s bedroom.

“Sir. Morinozuka-sama has arrived.” she said and left Satoshi in front of Yasuchika’s bedroom door.

Pancakes for Lunch Dearest?

Tamaki recalled yesterday’s events in the Third Music Room with a happy smile. He always had a flair for the element of surprise and for being fashionably late given the right circumstances. In his mind, and as it happened, it was beautifully executed and he got exactly what he wanted.

His happy return had been fruitful; he didn’t quite understand the looks on everyone’s faces, but he had been warmly received.

Now as he sat across his bespectacled classmate that lunchtime at a little shop some ways from the academy, he was also about to get what he wanted.

Pancakes.

…for lunch.
